Peptide Therapy

What Are Peptides?

Peptides are tiny proteins that serve as highly specialized signaling molecules in a variety of vital bodily functions. Hormone production, cell signaling, and cell-to-cell communication are all aided by peptides. Peptides are being hailed as a medical breakthrough by both researchers and physicians for the following reasons:

  • Low toxicity
  • High chemical and biological diversity
  • High potency and specificity
  • Good efficacy, safety, and tolerability
  • A broad range of targets
  • Enhances cell growth

The fact that therapeutic peptides are accessible to rational design is likely their most significant advantage. Therapeutic peptides can be made to participate in almost any biological activity. This means they can be designed to disrupt protein interactions if enough of the target site’s sequence is known and the conditions are right for the peptide to bind it.

What Conditions Can Peptides Therapy Treat?

Peptides can be used to treat a wide range of illnesses. The list of potential conditions that can benefit from peptides is nearly endless, but here are just a few:

  • Insomnia
  • Inflammation
  • Cancer
  • Dementia
  • Lyme Disease
  • Joint Injury
  • Erectile Disfunction
  • Low Testosterone
  • Weight Loss
  • Poor Sleep

How Do They Work?

Semax has been found to protect the body and brain from oxidative stress in a variety of ways. In a Russian study of task performance in healthy males, it also increased memory and attention. In animal tests, Semax also reduced learning time. Increases brain BDNF levels, among other things. Enkephalins aren’t broken down when this supplement is taken. It defends the neurological system against oxidative stress. During a stroke, it affects the expression of genes relevant to the immune and vascular systems.

What Is Peptide Therapy?

Peptides function faster on the cell surface and are more specific to physiologic circuits. They send out a series of signals that clean up your body’s cellular communication. Peptides function “epigenetically,” turning off genes that cause disease and turning on ones that promote longevity. Because peptides interact with hundreds of healing pathways in the body, they stimulate the healing process, which is why they work faster than conventional therapies. Not only do most peptides avoid the traditional digestive barriers that prevent them from being digested, but they also engage the entire body through cell-to-cell communication, allowing the area in distress to get the signal immediately, resulting in rapid healing accelerations.

Peptide therapy is a type of treatment that promotes cellular renewal. Peptides are made up of short amino acid chains that can bind to receptors on the cell’s surface. This enables them to give instructions to cells and molecules for specific tasks. Peptides are important for promoting bodily responses and actions, and they can be used safely and efficiently to address specific issues.

Are Peptides Safe?

Peptides have minimal to no harmful effects and have a long track record of safety. With nearly no contraindications, they can be used in conjunction with other treatments such as hormones, medicines, and botanicals. Many peptides can be administered in doses up to 100 times higher than medicine and have no known negative effects. Increased peptide dosage does not imply improved therapeutic effectiveness; the body does not respond to what it does not require.

Peptides, unlike many medications, do not have a system override. Peptides, like many other drugs, are available on the black market; acquiring them without a prescription from a skilled medical provider can put you at risk. You may save money, but most non-regulated peptide sources provide pieces of the full peptide complex, which can reduce the effectiveness. Because of their high safety standards and quality controls, we only employ peptides from highly validated compounding pharmacies like Wells Pharmacy. Each peptide prescription is reviewed and audited by our medical experts.

Dr. Jocelyne Eberstein’s Training

Jocelyne Eberstein is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Doctor of Oriental Medicine. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Jocelyne began her medical career as a nuclear medicine technologist at the University of San Diego Hospital.  The low levels of radiation Jocelyne had been exposed to during this time presented an obstacle when she decided to start a family. It wasn’t until a cardiologist at Cedar Sinai proposed the idea of Traditional Chinese medicine to help with infertility that she began to explore alternative medicine. “It might help and it cant hurt,” were his words, and so began Jocelyne’s journey into natural medicine.

In 1984, she began her studies at the distinguished Emperors College in Santa Monica, California, and after completing the program in Traditional Chinese Medicine with honors, she was soon licensed as an acupuncturist. Deriving enormous motivation from her studies in China, she completed advanced coursework in Herbology, Gynecology, and Chinese Internal Medcine at Jiang’s College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Hangzhou, China. She received her O.M.D. (Doctor of Oriental Medicine) from Samra University in Los Angeles, California, and was one of the first acupuncturists to become board certified in Acupuncture Orthopedics. In addition, Jocelyne is a Qualified Medical Examiner and a Diplomat in Acupuncture and Herbology (National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture).
